THE INVESTIGATION

What can actually be established about the Shroud?

The Shroud Codes brings history, forensic questions, scientific findings and disputed interpretations into one structured investigation — while keeping evidence, hypothesis and theology distinct.

01

History

From first-century burial practice to medieval France and the later custodianship of the cloth, the historical record is examined as a chain of evidence — including where that chain remains incomplete.

02

Science

Image formation, blood and trauma findings, textile characteristics, radiocarbon dating and modern non-invasive testing proposals are presented with attention to what the evidence can — and cannot — establish.

03

Open Questions

The investigation does not end where certainty ends. Unresolved scientific questions, competing interpretations and the Vatican’s role in future testing remain central to the case.

10lines of scientific and historical evidence examined
2proposed non-invasive scientific tests
1historic question still demanding a definitive investigation

THE DOCUMENTARY

The case moves beyond the page.

Sworn To Secrecy becomes the starting point for a chapter-by-chapter documentary investigation. The courtroom framework remains, but the series can go further: into laboratories, historical reconstruction, archaeology, theology and the boundaries of what modern science can presently support.

THE PROJECT

From author’s argument to public investigation.

Donald Leichel’s books provide the source material and central questions. The Shroud Codes expands that work into a broader public investigation — separating documented findings from interpretation and following the evidence into the areas where history, science and theology meet.

FULL SYNOPSIS

Sworn To Secrecy

The middle of the fourteenth century was a time of crisis for medieval France. At war with England, and racked by famine and plague, the country was beset with problems. Against this backdrop, at the tiny church of Lirey in central France, what we now know as the Shroud of Turin was first exposed to a troubled public. Portraying the image of a scourged and crucified man, it was claimed to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ. But was it real … or a clever fake designed to earn its owner, the Middle Age knight Geoffroi de Charny, confidant and protector of King John the Good of France, fame and fortune?

In this extraordinary book, Geoffroi de Charny has been posthumously charged with murder – of killing an innocent victim in order to create the image on the shroud. Or, in the alternative, did he fraudulently acquire Christ’s burial cloth, obtaining for himself the clearest confirmation of Jesus’s resurrection? His trial calls on expert witnesses to examine the case, combining modern scientific evidence with insights into the religious and cultural background of first century Israel, and new understanding of the symbols on the shroud and concealed messages in the New Testament. The author takes a scholarly approach in presenting the judicial process, revealing new information regarding the history of the most precious relic of the Christian faith and the reasons why its early custodians were Sworn to Secrecy.

This detailed legal exposé puts the onus firmly on the Turin Shroud’s present custodian, the Pope, to put the record straight by allowing new scientific tests, in particular using two currently available methods that could be deployed without causing further damage to the shroud. This approach should settle the matter once and for all. The significance would be immense for a fractured world plagued by competing world views. It could serve as a definitive sign of Jesus’s second coming at the end of the Age, as prophesied in the Old Testament Book of Daniel by The Man Clothed in Linen.

FULL SYNOPSIS

The Man Clothed in Linen

Don's book, The Man Clothed in Linen, is a breakthrough in predicting the return of Jesus Christ. Solving the coded messages given by the man clothed in linen in the Old Testament Book of Daniel, the date of the second coming is foretold, and the signs of this imminent occurrence are identified. The numeric sequences form complementary proof of the authenticity of the Turin Shroud, as disclosed in his second book, Sworn To Secrecy.

The outcome of Don's findings is mind-blowing and explains why our generation is witness to events predicted by Jesus to happen on Earth and in the heavens.

It is recommended that you acquire The Man Clothed in Linen as its contents will prepare you for the irrefutable evidence of authenticity of the Shroud of Turin in conjunction with Jesus’s second coming.
